The Accreditation Process How to become a NAS Accredited Certifying Body: NAS evaluates, assesses and accredits certification bodies that are able to prove competencies in the areas of auditing and the certification of organizations that are able to show conformance to management system standards. NAS provides an impartial and unbiased evaluation of such competencies and allows for greater acceptance of the certifying bodies certifications to those management systems. Eligibility for NAS Accreditation: Companies seeking to be eligible for accreditation by NAS must conform to ISO/IEC 17021:2011, Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems along with ISO 19011:2002, Guidelines for quality and/or environmental management systems auditing (both available from ANSI).
